Living With Epilepsy

Teens with epilepsy can lead great lives! They can date and do well in school and get into good colleges and have successful careers and families. Teens with epilepsy can even get a driver’s license once their seizures are under control. Having epilepsy shouldn’t keep you from doing anything you want to do in terms of working, developing strong relationships and succeeding in life.

People with epilepsy do have the added challenge of telling others about their epilepsy. It can be nerve-wracking to tell people or to worry about having a seizure, but by telling others, you’ll be developing a strong network of people who can help you succeed.

There may be a local youth council in your area that can help-see how one Epilepsy Foundation Youth Council in Colorado is working together to making living with epilepsy a little easier.

Just diagnosed? Learn more about it here with singer John Mayer and Heroes star (and dad to a teen with epilepsy) Greg Grunberg.
